Terms of Service
1. What Pathfinder is
Pathfinder is a planning-first AI-assisted service that helps students research university courses and apprenticeships, organise their application plan, track deadlines, and prepare drafts. It is currently operating as a supervised controlled pilot.
Pathfinder is not a school, college, university, or careers service. It is not a regulated financial, legal, or professional advisory service.
2. Who can use Pathfinder
Pathfinder is available only to users with a valid pilot invitation.
Students: During this controlled live phase, you must be aged 16 or over. If you are under 16, do not create an account or use the service. Younger-student access may be added only after a separate under-16 launch gate is approved.
Parents and guardians: You may access a read-only parent view if you have been linked to a student account with the student’s consent. You see only what the student has consented to share.
3. What Pathfinder does
- Search and explore university courses, degree apprenticeships, and apprenticeships.
- Build and manage an application shortlist with a structured plan.
- Track key deadlines including UCAS dates, apprenticeship closing dates, and open days.
- Draft content for personal statements and course answers in your own words, for your review before you send anything.
- Ask questions and explore options through a supervised AI chat lane.
4. What Pathfinder does not do
- Submit any application, form, or document on your behalf without your explicit review and confirmation.
- Guarantee any application outcome, offer, or acceptance.
- Provide professional careers advice, legal advice, or regulated financial advice.
- Make binding decisions about your application plan.
- Access your email, calendar, Google Drive, or other accounts beyond your sign-in identity.
- Send messages to universities or employers without your confirmed instruction.
AI outputs are suggestions, not advice. AI-generated content — including suggestions, drafts, summaries, and plan descriptions — is provided for your consideration only. Always verify opportunity details against official sources before relying on them.
5. Acceptable use
You must use Pathfinder for lawful personal educational purposes only. You must not share your login credentials, attempt to access another user’s data, misuse or disrupt the service, or attempt to circumvent safety controls or consent gates.
6. Pilot service and availability
Pathfinder is a controlled pilot. Features may be incomplete or change without notice. Plan data and conversation history may be reset during certain pilot phases. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
7. Payment and subscription
Some features may require a paid subscription. Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Invited pilot users receive access at no charge during the controlled pilot.
8. Intellectual property
All intellectual property in Pathfinder belongs to Decentre Studio Limited or our licensors. Content you create — your plan data, notes, and drafts — belongs to you. We use it only to provide the service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Decentre Studio Limited will not be liable for loss of data during the pilot, missed deadlines or adverse application outcomes, reliance on AI-generated content that has not been independently verified, or indirect and consequential losses. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
